The Juan Ponce de León Bilingual School is a Middle school located in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The school building is more than a hundred years old. Many years ago the building used to be a prison and years later it became a hospital until it was transformed into the school we know today. This school gives service to seventh graders, eight graders and nine graders all grades having five groups each. Even though the school is located in the educational region at Humacao, it is part of the Las Piedras school district. The school has a dual bilingual system that even though its expectation is to offer all classes fully in the English Language, some classes are given in Spanish. The Regional supervisor is Awilda Iglesias and the school superintendent is Julio Diaz.
